The Conversation 2

Using the same tools and techniques that you will learn through The Conversation, I have supported clients to resolve a range of people challenges, here are few examples:

1. A Line manager was able to reduce sickness absence across their team, through implementing structured conversations, using my scripts and templates to review every episode of absence with each member of his team. The manager drew upon their strengths of empathy and relationship building to support employees individually.

This reduced the cost of sickness absence as well as reducing the impact that repeated periods of absence can have on team performance and productivity.

2. A business owner was able to successfully support an employee’s return to work following a vehicle accident. Using the managers strengths of enthusiasm, initiative and flexibility and with the support of HR, they confidently discussed options with the employee using the tools and techniques learned through coaching. The outcome was a trial flexible plan, supporting the employee to return to work with alternative duties and reduced hours over a 6 month period. The employee returned to normal duties and working hours after the 6 month plan. This reduced the risk of long term absence to the business and supported the employees wellbeing.

3. A client in the tech industry wanted to do some team building, but didn’t want to ‘play games’.

We used strengthscope profiling to understand individual strengths as well as the collective team strengths. I then facilitated some team workshops where strengths were openly discussed, we were able to build an appreciation for individual and collective strengths.

The team agreed a new team charter which helped them connect to ‘why’ they were a team and remind them that the collective team is stronger than a group of individuals. Without asking for it, the client was able to effect real culture change in a positive way.
